The Ultimate New Year’s Eve Bash: A Review of the Resolutions Ball in Detroit
The Resolutions Ball in Detroit is known as the largest and most exclusive annual New Year’s Eve party in the Midwest, and it’s easy to see why. My husband and I recently attended the event and were blown away by the festive atmosphere and the upscale, Chicago-Vegas-style experience.

We had VIP tickets, which included access to the Crystal Ballroom (VIP only) and Fountain Ballroom. The tickets also included a 6-hour VIP premium bar package. 10 drink tickets for premium cocktails, bottle service with a booth, or non-alcoholic beverages. We also had early VIP-only entry and access from 8-9:30 PM, a champagne reception until 10:30 PM. Lastly, lavish VIP hors d’oeuvres and carving stations from 8-11 PM.

The entertainment at the event was top-notch, with headliner and cirque-style entertainment lasting until 3 AM. The Crystal Ballroom and Fountain Ballrooms both had main stages featuring DJs Tommy Holiday and DJ Cue, as well as guest DJs, GoVana dancers and entertainers, and strolling entertainment including stilt walkers, illusionists, and stunt performers.
The venue for the event, the Historic Masonic Temple in Detroit, was the perfect backdrop for the celebration. The Masonic Temple is a beautiful, historic venue located in the heart of Detroit’s entertainment district and is the largest building of its kind in the world. It features three theaters, a Shrine building, a chapel, eight lodge rooms, a drill hall, two ballrooms, and much more.
A Memorable Midnight Countdown at the Resolutions Ball
At midnight, the party reached its climax with the “Korbel Countdown” champagne reception, party favors, an epic balloon drop and confetti storm, and LED wall broadcasts. There were also deluxe midnight snack stations offering pizza, sliders, and coney stations to keep attendees fueled for the rest of the night.
