Unique and Creative Mother’s Day Ideas for 2023

Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day 2023: Create Lasting Memories

Updated May 10, 2023

This year Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 14. Mother’s Day is one of my favorite national holidays. I love celebrating and reminding the mothers who are in my World how special they are. One of my favorite things to do with my mom, stepmother, aunt, and/or sisters, is going out to brunch and sipping mimosas. I put together a Mother’s Day gift guide if you’re planning a Mother’s Day brunch, along with a list of things to do, a Mother’s Day gift for book lovers, and my FAVORITE place to have brunch!

Bridgerton books

Things to do for Mother’s Day

A picnic at your favorite lake, beach, or park. There has been an increase in the popularity of picnics since the pandemic. If you are looking to get outdoors, a picnic is a great way to enjoy quality time with family, friends, or yourself while maintaining social distancing. See below for a cute picnic aesthetic for inspiration.

Camping is another great way to spend time with Mom or family. You can camp out in your own backyard or pick out your favorite camping location. This is a great idea for those who love to camp and spend time in the great outdoors.

Volunteer-something my mother-in-law and I love to do together is volunteer work within our church. This year for Mother’s Day we volunteered for our church’s “Laundry Ministry”. This is where members of the church met up at the local laundromat and “Paid it Forward”, by paying it forward for people’s laundry and giving moms flowers, and gift cards to those in need.

My mother-in-law is a pastor of the church and she loves to do things like this. It was the perfect way for us to have quality time and bond together and together pay it forward to the community.

Lastly, my FAVORITE place to have brunch is at Shooters Waterfront, a Waterfront Restaurant on Intercoastal in Fort Lauderdale. So beautiful here, my husband and I visited this place when we were in Florida last fall. I fell in love with the entire atmosphere. We had a great experience, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious! I just have to share it with you guys.

If you are ever in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, or looking to book a Mother’s Day brunch, this is hands down the spot for it! They are currently having a Mother’s Day event, which includes a delicious waterfront dining experience with a special all-day Sunday buffet on the water. Featuring a Sushi & Raw Bar with a delectable selection of seafood, Snow Crab, and Shrimp. A mouth-watering carving station will include Prime Rib, Honey Glazed Ham, and more!
