What I found at Target’s Beauty Aisle
I was at Target last week in search of some more foundation that I ran low on and end up doing a mini Target beauty haul. I repurchased my holy grail foundation, and also decided to try a few other beauty products which caught my eye while perusing the aisle. Today I am sharing my review on the few items that made their way into my shopping basket.
My holy grail foundation that I can always count on is Maybelline’s Fit Me Dewy & Smooth in the color 310 Sun Beige & Maybelline’s Super Stay Active Wear foundation in the color 320 Honey. I’ve been wearing this foundation since my 7 Day Makeup Challenge. I normally wear the color warm honey in the Fit Me but they did not seem to have it in stock when I was there.
I also picked up the Almay Biodegradable Longwear Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They are supposed to help gently remove makeup, foundation, dirt & oil. I do like that the towelettes are made from 100% biodegradable fibers, fragrance-free and clean, and Non-comedogenic. My Review: It mentions taking off the toughest of makeup and not needing to rinse afterward. They do seem a little on the dry side while using them, making them not as gentle as they claim. My eye makeup smeared and seemed to have a tough time wiping that off and it felt too harsh for my sensitive skin, as my under eyes felt a little burning sensation. It did get most of the makeup off, I did have to use two wipes to cleanse. I will not be purchasing these again.
The Baylis & Harding Hand Wash Soap Oud Cedar and Amber was a great find. I picked up the travel-size hand soap. It is a natural hand wash with organic extracts. My Review: I love the smell of this soap so much and it makes my hands feel smooth and smell really good. It lathers well without drying out your hands. I will be picking up the larger size next shopping trip to Target.
I picked up these Holler and Glow Purrfect Pedi Foot Mask. These are Exfoliating, Nourishing, and ultra-moisturizing. Powered by lactic and glycolic acid, enriched with nourishing vitamin E and moisturizing kiwi extract. I soaked my feet in these socks and you are to remove them after 60 minutes or a max of 90 minutes. These socks are cruelty-free. After soaking my feet for the max time, I washed my feet thoroughly. It mentions avoiding moisturizing for approximately 7-10 days, which I have. By day 4 my dead skin started to peel slightly, day 5 started peeling off even more. By day 6 I used a pumice stone in the shower to help scrub off the dead skin.
My Review: I notice after dead skin started to peel my feet felt baby soft! I was so happy with the results. It was worth it to me and for the price, can’t beat that! Some folks say to soak your feet the following days in water to help speed up the process. I have just been letting it get dry up so that it can shed off. I love this so much and definitely recommend it for a pedicure at home.
Ran low on my favorite brow pencil by Tony Moly 7 Days Tattoo Eyebrow pencil. I have been using this for months and have had some trouble finding something as good. I decided to try out Makeup Revolution Duo Brow Definer. It Includes a precision tip pencil and definition brush, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. So what I did was color and fill my brows using the precision tip pencil and then I used the definition brush to blend and tame the strays for perfectly defined brows.
Had to try the Milani The Perfector Duo Blending Sponges. I am a big fan of Milani brand and was in need of a new blending sponge. Both sponges are a one-of-a-kind shape with three unique sides for a seamless, streak-free finish. It has one standard size sponge for flawless, full-face makeup application & a mini sponge for targeted, precise blending. The sponges are tapered, flat edges which are designed for contouring into and over the natural contours of the face. The flat, angled side is designed for precise setting powder application. The round edge is designed for blending cream & liquid complexion products.
My Review: The Milani Perfector Duo Blending Sponges are amazing and so soft! It does not absorb any of the product. I used this for contouring and setting powder. I’ve tried many blending sponges and so far these are my top favorite! My contour came out flawlessly. They are also really easy to clean. And it is affordable and you get two! I like using the small one for contouring my nose area and it is much easier to get around. Will be buying these again and highly recommend them.
I also had to try a new black-owned brand in Target called Thread Beauty. I only snagged the Face It Complexion stick. So far, I absolutely love this makeup and brand so far. You can read my full review and how to apply it in my previous post.
Next, I picked up e.l.f. Lash Beats Defining & Lengthening Mascara. This mascara features a wand with a narrow, flexible brush that is supposed to create effortless separation and longer-looking lashes without any unwanted lumps and clumps.
My Review: This mascara gives a natural look. It is not clumpy. I have short lashes and don’t feel like it gave my lashes much length to them. When washing this off, it smeared and smudge a lot, and I had a hard time washing this off my eyes. It’s okay, not too bad either. I most likely wouldn’t buy this mascara again.
Well you guys, that was everything from my Target mini beauty haul. What product are you looking to try?
